Gallery: Wildflower Blooms in Sierra Foothills

The beauty of wildflowers is that they bloom in places no one thought they could grow. Every April 6th is California Poppy Day. The golden poppy is the California state flower. Gold is one of the two state colors; blue is the other. Poppies can be found everywhere in the West, from the mountains to the coast. For this reason some people believe the golden poppy symbolizes perseverance and hope. Below is a collection of wildflower photos by Bee Lee.
